Welcome and Course Details!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Quiet Your Mind and Set Yourself Free online course!

I am so happy that you are here. This class will share with you some ideas, tips and approaches to quieting your mind in each moment of your life to help you find peace, joy and clarity in your life. You may just find it could be the first steps toward long-term transformation.

Some details before we start:

1) Weekly Exercises

I encourage you to go through the exercises sequentially. You'll note that some are simply just watching or listening, but others involve you writing or doing your own work (quieting the mind on your own!). While this course is self-paced, try to work through the course in at least 2-3 weeks so as not to lose momentum. Remember that the important thing is to just start. The hardest part will be just actually sitting down to do it.. try taking just 5 minutes a day and see what happens!

2) Quieting the Mind Action

After listening to the guided meditation, devote at least 5 minutes every day (first thing in the morning is a great way to start the day) to getting still and quieting your mind. You can start with just 3-5 minutes and work up to more time (at least 15 minutes eventually is ideal but not necessary). It is good to find a quiet space without distraction, and some people choose to make that space a sacred place with a candle, crystals, etc. It can be helpful to find relaxing music to help settle your mind, or listening to guided meditations, like the ones here, is a good idea for beginners. Eventually you may eventually want to just be in silence (or with relaxing music) to practice on your own without guidance. This helps you develop the tools in your brain to bring yourself back to the breath from any thoughts!

The more time you can devote to this, the better. Anything is better than nothing. Remember, there is no "right" way.. it's just exercise for your brain (just like for your body). And eventually you will be able to quiet your mind by focusing on your breath in small moments (like waiting in line or making dinner).

I look forward to hearing about how the week goes for you!

With blessings and gratitude,

Rachel
